We are very pleased to invite you to the 18th Annual Russian-American Innovation Technology Week (RANIT), which will be held on September 23-27, 2013 and November 13-22, 2013. It will focus on biotechnology, the pharmaceutical industry, medical equipment, life sciences, alternative energy, nanotechnology, the chemical industry, information technology, technology in education, and entrepreneurship. The Russian delegation that will take part in the 18th RANIT will consist of representatives from the foremost Russian companies and educational institutions in innovation technology and related industries as well as senior federal and regional government officials. 

The first part of the 18th Annual Russian-American Innovation Technology Week (RANIT) will take place in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and the Mid-Atlantic Region from September 23-27, 2013.  Key Russian-American RANIT events will include Russian-American Innovation Technology, University Research & Commercialization Conference at the University City Science Center in Philadelphia on September 27. Russian-American Innovation Technology, University Research & Commercialization Conference will feature discussions on new technology and university-related commercialization.  The event will begin with remarks on developing innovation systems in various countries. A multi-country panel will discuss the current connection between university research commercialization and entrepreneurship in Russia, Israel, and the United States.  Russian-American Innovation Technology, University Research & Commercialization Conference will also feature the presentation of the story of the first Russian company with an office at the University City Science Center. The Science Center is the biggest and oldest urban technology park in the United States, and is celebrating 50 years of inventing the future this year.

The second part of the 18th Annual Russian-American Innovation Technology Week will take place from November 13-22, 2013. Key Russian-American RANIT events will include Russian-American Life Sciences Innovation Conference in Philadelphia on November 14. The 2013 Russian-American Life Sciences Innovation Conference is a multi-industry event, highlighting increased involvement by key Russian and American policy-makers.  The discussion will include policy changes that have come as a result of the “Comprehensive Program of Biotechnology Development in Russia to 2020” signed in April 2012 as well as Russia’s entry into the WTO in August 2012 and its effect on the Russian-American partnership in the life sciences industry.
