Ann Arbor SOUP: Public Dinner Funding Micro-Grants for Creative Projects

In Person
During GEW

Inspired by Detroit SOUP, Ann Arbor SOUP provides the unique opportunity for an individual or group’s project to be funded and supported by the community. The event itself is a micro-granting dinner that celebrates creative projects in Ann Arbor.  Entrance to the dinner is $5, and upon arriving, each guest receives soup, salad, and a vote.  The presenters will first share their idea and then answer questions from the diners.  After the presentations guests eat, connect, share resources, and vote on which project they think should win the collected funding from that night.  As the event comes to a close, the votes are tallied, and the winning proposal takes the money collected at the door.  It is our hope that Ann Arbor SOUP offers the unique setting where local groups and organizations have the possibility to receive funding and support from various individuals within the community.
