Business Simulation Competition
MediaSpark.com is donating free versions of their GoVenture Lemonade Stand to organizations during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Students, 18 and older, with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and enrolled in the CLEAR program at Johnson County Community College, will participate in the simulated competition where they will act as budding entrepreneurs to learn how to make good business decisions depending on variables such as cost of goods, pricing, location, marketing and competition. The team who makes the most money during the competition will win a prize. CLEAR (College Learning Experiences, Activities and Resources) provides non-credit continuing education classes for adults with developmental disabilities or other cognitive disabilities who generally have received special education services in their local school districts. Located on the college’s campus in Overland Park, Kansas, the program is designed to teach independent living skills and provide life-enhancing experiences.
