Celebration of small business
The Cumberland County Higher Education Center will host a celebration of small business 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 17 in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The event will be held in the Community Room at the campus, 2567 Cook Road in Crossville, and is free and open to the public.
This event is sponsored by the Cumberland Business Incubator, Roane State Community College, Tennessee Tech University and the Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce. Special recognition is focused on the entrepreneurial success stories of TAP Publishing and MasterCorp – local startups that have had global success.
There will be information displays for the sponsoring organizations as well as for the following: Tennessee Small Business Development Center, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Downtown Crossville, Inc., and Business and Professional Women of Cumberland County. Advisers will be on hand from TTU and Roane State Community College to assist individuals wishing to pursue degrees in business. Special guest is TTU’s mascot Awesome Eagle on hand for photos.
Celebrating and raising awareness about the role of small businesses is important because small businesses are critical to the economy.
