During GEW

The Lincoln County EDC and USDA Rural Development recently cohosted a community assessment in the Town of Wilbur and we included high school students in our assessment. Ninety students were asked to identify Wilbur’s strengths and challenges. Now that the students have identified the strengths and challenges, we want to encourage them to think about their answers and about related businesses that could be developed from them.

Business instructor Stacey Nash will give her Seniors a challenge: What if you lived in Wilbur, you had access to unlimited bandwidth, and you wanted to start a business that either built on Wilbur’s strengths or addressed Wilbur’s challenges. What would that business be? Students will submit a 1-page business plan as their entry with the winning idea announced during Global Entrepreneurship Week!
