The StartupHoya Challenge brings together students interested in entrepreneurship from across the entire Georgetown University community. Though a series of competitions over the course of the year, aspiring student entrepreneurs have the chance to hone their ideas, develop their business plans, and pitch their concepts to expert judges. In this Rocket Pitch event, up to 20 selected teams present a 90-second "elevator pitch" in front of an audience and a panel of expert judges. The best teams will be awarded cash prizes. Led by a team of undergraduates, the Challenge culminates in a final “pitch day” and campus-wide celebration of entrepreneurship. Over the last few years, more than 150 student teams have competed for cash and other prizes including technical support and professional services. Many participants have continued their entrepreneurial endeavors and have successfully raised further backing for their ventures.
