Join us in November for the Third Startup Boot Camp for Women, a series of workshops designed to help women-owned businesses get off the ground. The Boot Camp is being facilitated by Professor Tom Swartwood, Assistant Professor of Practice–Entrepreneurship, and Assistant Director of the Buchanan Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. As an entrepreneur who is tuned-in to the local startup community, Tom will bring mentors into the Boot Camp to help participants develop their ideas into workable plans. In previous Boot Camps, women of all ages – college students to retirees – received help from our experts in honing their business plans and getting their ideas going. The Boot Camp is also designed to help attendees get to know the local community better and provide valuable networking opportunities.

The Boot Camp will take place over two weekend sessions:

Week 1

  • Friday, November 8 from 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Saturday, November 9, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm;

Week 2

  • Friday, November 15, from 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Saturday, November 16, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The cost for these sessions is $125; Drake Alumni and staff receive a discounted registration rate of $75. Meals are included. For more information and to register, please visit the Entrepreneurship Centers website or contact Professor Swartwood.
