GEW/USA Partner News: The StartUp Cup Kicks off this Week
As planning for GEW 2013 moves into full swing for our partners, we want to again highlight organizations within the GEW network as they continue to further their entrepreneurial ecosystems. The StartUp Cup kicked off on April 16 at the Tulsa Community College Center for Creativity in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sponsored by the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation, the competition offers entrepreneurs a chance to compete for a $30,000 grand prize. A featured event of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the competition is open to anyone with a new business idea or a business that has been in operation less than three years. Last year’s winner, Roger Shollmier, the man behind The Galley sinks, described the Startup Cup, "It's like getting a free college course with multiple professors that are at your beck and call to guide you." He added that since his win, announced during GEW 2012, business has been booming, even going international. StartUp Cup entries will be accepted until May 20. More GEW/USA partner news:
