Governor Declares GEW in Iowa

Governor Terry Branstad has declared this week Global Entrepreneurship Week in Iowa. He explained that it’s a way for the state to help advance small business. “Small businesses are the backbone of our state’s economy, accounting for 51.3% of private sector jobs,” says Branstad.

Entrepreneurs and innovators can get involved by participating in events scheduled around the state. Organizers including Iowa Sourcelink, the University of Iowa and Muscataing Community College have helped plan over 20 events statewide for GEW. Among the top rated activities in the state include Startup Weekend DSM, 1 Million Cups and more.
