Over 40 Startup Weekend Events Happing During GEW
Featured partners, Startup Weekend, are planning over 40 events across the United States to celebrate entrepreneurs and GEW 2013. From Boston to Santa Barbara, Austin to Reno, participants will form teams and take on the 54-hour challenge. Developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, build products, and launch startups!
In addition to the traditional Startup Weekend's happing across the US during GEW, there are a few non-traditional events that are going to take place as well:
San Diego Veterans Startup Weekend will feature participants both veteran and non veteran entrepreneurs who will work on the teams along with the veterans. The goal will be to put veterans together with entrepreneurs in order to utilize each other’s talents and expertise from a broad range of professional backgrounds.
Albuquerque Teen Startup Weekend is being produced by student entrepreneurs for student entrepreneurs and will have essentially the same structure as the traditional Startup Weekend. However, there will be additional coaches and mentors to guide students, shorter hours, and education sessions to help the students on things such as Customer Validation, Business Models, Marketing and more elements of putting a business together.
In addition to hosting a traditional Startup Weekend, Startup Weekend Seattle will also be hosting Startup Weekend: Youth Edition, specially designed for the next generation’s entrepreneurs, 5th–8th graders. Participant teams will rotate through different activity centers, each focusing on a different facet of ideation and execution. Each activity will emphasize a different aspect of creativity, idea formation, product building, and refining the story into a short presentation.
