West Chester University - The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center
The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC), a center of the College of Business and Public Affairs at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, serves as a catalyst for regional economic development by promoting entrepreneurship at West Chester University, in Chester County, and throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center is designed to inspire students to engage in entrepreneurial ventures by exposing them first hand to entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial environments and to foster economic development in Chester County and throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. The Center’s successful Entrepreneurial Leadership Center internship program places WCU students in Pennsylvania based small and startup businesses and funds the cost of the interns. Students earn college credit and gain valuable experience working with entrepreneurs and small business owners. In addition to the internship program, the Center offers seminars and workshops, guest lectures, and a wealth of online resources related to entrepreneurship. The center hosts a speaker series featuring distinguished West Chester University alumni as well as successful entrepreneurs from the region. Each year, the Center names a successful entrepreneur as Entrepreneur in Residence. The Entrepreneur in Residence shares his/her experience and insight by meeting with students and serving as a guest lecturer. The Center hosts an Entrepreneur Fellowship designed to assist students in developing their entrepreneurial aspirations. The Center is also an educational partner of the Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic. Keiretsu Forum is the world's largest and most successful Accredited Investor - Private Equity Community. Students interested in learning about private equity can participate in a Keiretsu Forum Due Diligence Fellowship.
